We have rolled into fall now and before you know it winter will have arrived. Many of my clients are now thinking of remodeling projects and in particular new flooring. So, I thought it would be a good idea to talk about flooring this month. Did you know that 70% of the flooring purchased nationally is now luxury vinyl plank or tile?
Only 30% of people are purchasing hardwood, tile or laminate.
That’s a huge change in the industry. The reason? The new luxury vinyl plank and tile looks so authentic to real wood or tile that it’s difficult to be able to tell that it’s not genuine wood or tile.
It’s also getting better and better.
Now it can be installed directly over concrete or wood without a subfloor. Not all of the manufacturers profess that, but the newer cork backed products have that capability which brings cost down for the labor and you have the wood or tile look for less than the real thing but you can’t tell the difference except under foot. It comes with long guarantees and sometimes a life-time warranty. Shaw, Mannington, and Armstrong make great products but there are many more so look into it if you’re doing a flooring project.
You’ll love how it looks and feels! Til next time!
